Cutwater
Software development

I started as an Apple Macintosh application programmer using C, C++ and various related frameworks, which has served me well for many years. I have written almost everything from desktop applications to Adobe plug-ins to device drivers, including some of the first FAX modem drivers to see the light of day.

With the advent of Mac OS X came the availability of major web development tools 'out of the box'.

Unable (or unwilling) to leave well enough alone, I earned a Masters Degree in Internet Engineering and started programming for the web.

Some past and present jobs include the following folks (in no particular order). The end products include applications and utilities for both web and desktop.

  • Liberty Mutual
  • National Center for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Eastman Kodak
  • Polaroid
  • Ad Astra Recording
  • Green River
  • The Lobster Conservancy

Some projects involved the complete end-to-end process of specification, design, and implementation. Some required project management. Others just involved churning out code.

While I still prefer the Mac OSX platform, I lately find most of my development time spent on Linux (Ubuntu).
